Pronunciation in Japanese

あいしてる(愛してる/aishiteru)

Meaning

love you

Example
わたしは、あなたを、あいしてる(watashi wa anata wo aishiteru)

I love you

Note
In Japan “I love you” is almost never used.
Even on TV drama such as one shown below, which was a huge hit back in early 90s.
The guy tried to demonstrate that he would not die because he loves her.
Here is the famous phrase he said right after he almost got hit by a track.

僕は死にません、

僕は死にません、あなたが好きだから

ぼくはしにません、

ぼくはしにません、あなたがすきだからから

bokuwa shinimasen,

bokuwa shinimasen, anataga suki dakara

As you can see, even in such dramatic situation, he still did not use the word “LOVE” but used “LIKE”

If you just want to let someone know you are interested in them, it is better (and more common) to say

あなたがすきです(anata ga sukidesu)=I like you

きみがすきです(kimi ga sukidesu)=I like you

えりこさんがすきです(eriko san ga sukidesu)=I like Miss Erico
